  1. Battle ILLUSTRATED PARTICULARS Plan and Conditions of Sale of Loose Farm... Modern House, terrace of five cottages... for Sale by Auction... 24th July, 1961. 18pp., 4to, wraps, folding plan, 9 photographic views on 3 plates. 1961. £10.00

  2. Bolney ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Scale 25" to 1 mile. Linen-backed map size 50" x 39". Covers Oldmill Farm, Warninglid, Colwood House, Colwood Park, Wykehurst, Oldmill Farm. Buildings, roads and water features hand-coloured. An area centred on Rout Farm and running along Earwig Lane, past Upper Colwood and Colwood Park outlined in light pink, with a stretch of darker shading south of the latter. Folding into boards size 13" x 9", marbled endpapers. Loosely inserted is an Ordnance Survey 'Book of Reference to the Plan of the Parish of Bolney' 1875, listing 696 fields, woods etc. 1pp., printed wraps. Signature and date 1881 in bottom margin. c1880. £30.00

  3. Eastbourne PROSPECTUS for West Hill House School. 6pp., 8vo. Lists subjects, staff, exam results, long list of Referees. c1898. £10.00

  4. Eastbourne THE LINKS Meads, Eastbourne. A Young Methodism Guest House. Souvenir Booklet. 20pp., 8vo, printed card wraps, which are slightly spotty. Each page has a photograph of the house or surroundings. 20 autographs and address of fellow guests, in ink, inside of back wrap. Late 1930s? £8.00

  5. Eastbourne, Newhaven ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet 334. Scale 1" to 1 mile. Size 13" x 20", border all round. Coast shaded in wash colour. Bottom half of map is sea area. Dissected and mounted on linen, folding into small 8vo marbled wraps. n.d. c1890. £14.00

  6. Etchingham PARTICULARS, PLAN AND CONDITIONS OF SALE of Four... Properties in this Improving Locality... For Sale by Auction... August 10th, 1900. 3pp., folio, plus docket title and memorandum. Full-page coloured plan. A few small edge tears at folds. 1900. £12.00

  7. Greenwood (C & J) MAP OF THE COUNTY OF SUSSEX from an Actual Survey made in the Years 1823 and 1824 by C. & J. Greenwood... Folding engraved map with full wash hand-colouring, size approx. 25" x 30", dissected and mounted on linen, folding into marbled endpapers, 10" x 6«". Scale 3 miles to an inch. Large title, compass rose, large vignette of Chichester Cathedral bottom right. Explanation, Tables of Reference to the Hundreds, and Principal Places of Election. Some very light toning of paper in places. Corrected to the Present Period July 4th 1839. £75.00

  9. Herstmonceaux ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP Sheet LVI.3. Scale 25" to 1 mile. Size 25" x 37". Roads, water features, buildings, hand-coloured. Two fields have been shaded yellow. Covers Stonelands Farm, northern part of Herstmonceaux, Trulilows. 1874. £20.00

  10. Hove INSTITUTION of John Calland Clark to the Canonry of Hova Villa, void by the Resignation of Ensby Cleaver the last Prebendar. Vellum, size 10" x 12", in manuscript. Signed W. Chichester with very fine papered seal of the Bishopric, 4" x 3". 1789. £20.00
    'we hereby assign and appoint unto you the stall in the choir and the said Prebendary Voice in the Chapter...'

Comprises Sheets: LXIX (Pevensey); LXXIX (Cuckmere Haven, Jevington. Coloured geologically to show different soils, key in margin.); LI (Steyning, Sullington); XXIII (Andover, Thruxton). 4 items. c1880. £35.00

  12. Rogate OBLIGATION BOND Richard Ridge of Rogate, Gentleman, to John Ridge of Subbington in Hampshire, for £200. Manuscript, 1p., small folio, blank conjoint leaf with docket title. Signed and witnessed, black wax seal. 1765. £18.00

  13. Sheriff of Sussex POWER OF ATTORNEY Kemble Whateley, Sheriff of Sussex to John Ellis, to receive patent money. 1p., folio, 26 lines. Fine armorial wax seal. Docket title on verso. Trace of neatly repaired tear. 1773. £26.00

  14. Sheriff of Sussex POWER OF ATTORNEY whereby George Peckham, Sheriff of Sussex appoints John Ellis his lawful Attorney. 22 lines on one side of folio sheet, good wax seal. Signatures of Peckham and two witnesses. Trace of tear in text which has been professionally restored. 1774. £20.00
    The attorney was to receive £95 due to him as Sheriff of the County from His Majesty's Treasury.

  15. Sheriffs LETTER OF ATTORNEY for receiving patent money, John Burges, Sheriff of Sussex to James Parke and John Ellis, attornies. Manuscript, 25 lines, folio, signed by Burges and two witnesses with fine large wax seal showing a sheaf of corn. Slight trace of tear from bottom edge. 1766. £20.00
    The attornies were authorised to receive ninety pounds and five shilling, payment to him from the Exchequer.

  16. Steyning, Finden, Washington ORDNANCE SURVEY MAP. Sheet LI. Engraved surface 24" x 36", plus margins, scale 6" to 1 mile. Shows Chanctonbury Hill and Chanctonbury Ring. 1878. £30.00

  17. Walker (J) & (C) SUSSEX. Folding engraved, hand-coloured map, showing Parliamentary Boundaries, dissected and mounted on linen, engraved area approx. 12¬" x 15«", plus margins, folding into boards size 5" x 4", original label. Owner's name and date on linen on verso. c1850. £16.00

  18. Walker (J) & (C) SUSSEX. Folding engraved, hand-coloured map, showing Parliamentary Boundaries, dissected and mounted on linen, engraved area approx. 12¬" x 15«", plus margins, folding into boards size 5" x 4". Some light browning in bottom left corner in blank area. 1841. £15.00

  19. Worthing LEASE FOR A YEAR of a barn and pieces of land in Worthing... Devisees of John Penfold to Harry Newland. Vellum sheet, wax seals. Some slight spotting in parts. 1823. £10.00
